COMEDY OF ERRORS - SEWAGE ADDITION PART TWO
Last Tuesday was sort of a disaster (see earlier post: Comedy of errors - sewage addition). I just considered it a fluke, and didn't think this was going to be a regular occurrence on Tuesdays. Guess again!
I laid down to take a nap today, but that didn't last long because Maggie woke up. So I decided to try to get some laundry done while Joseph was sleeping. Now potty training with Joseph has been going pretty well for the last week, but he hasn't really figured out how to stop himself from messing his pants. So, I was down in the basement rotating the laundry for 5 minutes, I came back upstairs and hear in the baby monitor, "Mommy help me! I need some help!" I head upstairs to help him, and am greeted by a horrific odor half way up the stairs...never a good sign! This is what I found awaiting me:
Joseph had woken up from his nap and had to go to the bathroom, but didn't catch himself in time. This time he had a clothe diaper on. So, he took his diaper off and threw it in the sink.
Then he tried to make it to the toilet to finish up his business, but had a difficult time making it there in time, so he left a deposit on the rug!
He accidently stepped in it,
Finally got to the toilet and sat on it, but too late! He was already done
with his business. He did leave some skid marks on the toilet seat though.
Then, being the self-sufficient third-born that he is, he tried to clean up the mess
with half a roll of toilet paper. That of course just made things worse!
This sort of thing is supposed to happen on MONDAYS! So, that is why I am declaring that Tuesdays are the new Mondays!
All in a day's work! Good thing that little boy is as cute as he is!!!
So, you will appreciate my similar story...
We had been in our new position for 2 months and were potty training our middle one. She was doing well but could not get the "pooping on the potty" thing. Our youth pastor was having a get to know you staff pastors night at their house. The babysitters were downstairs playing with the kids and they called me down. The basement bathroom was covered in poop smears! Annalise had it on her face, on her clothes, in her hair... it was everywhere! She had pooped in her underwear, went to the bathroom and tried to take care of it herself without telling the babysitters what she was doing. We ended up having to take her all the way upstairs (by all of our new pastor friends) to the bathroom with a tub to give her a bath and then I had to clean their bathroom. It was so embarrassing and completely horrible! I know exactly how you felt. Not fun! Thankfully, Abby has been a DREAM to potty train and is completely in underwear! YEah! :) I'll pray that he gets it soon! :)
