About five years ago, my family (my parents and siblings) decided to change Christmas up a bit. We had been buying presents for everyone. With most of us married and having kids ourselves, we found that Christmas was just getting too expensive, and it was too overwhelming to really appreciate everything. Sometimes our gift exchange would last for 2 hours, and it just wasn't even fun. So, we started drawing names for the gift exchange, and we made the rule that the gifts have to be homemade. It is always fun to see what creative ideas people come up with every year. It has really stretchedeach one of us, and as a result we have all picked up new hobbies and skills, such as wood working, knitting, sewing, painting, cross stitching, etc. As our kids are getting old enough to get involved, they are equally as excited about it as well. I particularly like the fact that you really have to think about the person whose name you drew, and craft a gift that fits their needs or style. A lot more thought and love goes into the gift, plus in most cases you are giving or receiving something that is heirloom quality, that is treasured for many, many years. So, I thought that I would share some of the previous years gifts with you.
That is so cool! I love the "Pie of the month" idea! I want to be a part of your family! Will you adopt me? LOL!

This is incredible. It reminds me of Little House on the Prairie. I want to do this! I especially loved Tracey's pie of the month club! You have some talent with those purses and sewing outfits, girl!
