We're expecting a lot out of our children is what I'm meaning to say!!! : )
Sorry if I just scared some of you! The best parenting advice I ever received was from a retired submarine captain, and father of seven delightful kids. It came up in a random conversation when I had commented on what neat children he had. He said these profound and simple words to me: "Children will rise to your level of expectations for them. If you don't expect much out of them, you won't be disappointed because that is exactly what you will get out of them...not much! If you expect a lot out of them, you won't be disappointed either, because that is precisely what they will achieve in life...a lot!"
