A while back I ran across this great resource that I have been trying, and I love it!  So are you ready?  Here it is!   www.freecycle.com  It is a site intended to help reduce the amount of waste in landfills.  "Waste" that is still useable.  For example, say you are cleaning out the house and just want to get rid of stuff, but you don't have the time to have a garage sale or whatever.  You post what you have available on this site, and other people that are registered on the site look through what you are offering.  The rule is that there can be NO money exchanged for the items...it has to be free.  I have been able to clean out my basement using this, as well as score some great things that I was in need of.  I was able to get rubber pants and cloth diapering supplies, some very nice name brand clothes for my daughter, some very cute Merrell shoes for my son, a toddler bed, and 5 garbage bags full of baby girl clothes on this site for FREE!  You can't beat that deal!  I have seen everything on there from bunk beds, to free puppies, a mobile home, and even a horse on there that people are trying to find homes for!  You never know what you'll find!  As the old adage goes, "One man's junk, is another man's treasure!"  So, give it a try.  You will have to register for the local chapter in your area.  Good luck!
