My youngest son, Joseph, is 3 weeks shy of turning two.  He has been very much the baby of the family, and showed no indication of wanting to be a big boy until the last couple of days.  My first two kids I think I pushed them a little harder to be "big", but now that I realize that it happens plenty fast enough, I haven't pushed Joe at all.  I've actually enjoyed babying him.  So, yes, he still has a binky, still has a bottle, sleeps in a crib, has no interest in potty training, etc.  He hardly says anything either, and has really not shown us he has an opinion about anything....that is until this week!
All of a sudden, he has decided that he only will watch Thomas The Tank Engine or Bob The Builder.  He only wants to wear his jeans and his Bob The Builder t-shirt, and his football pajamas.  He decided this week to drop his morning nap, and learn how to crawl out of bed...which is rather a cute story.  I was making a cake in the kitchen during the kids nap time,  and all of a sudden I hear little footprints coming across the floor.  I look up, and low and behold, it's Joe standing there!  He says to me, "well hi mom!"  He was so proud of himself!  So, I took him back upstairs, put him in bed, and said, "show mommy how you got out of bed!"  He then proceeds to scale the side of his crib like a professional and tell me "Joe-Joe big boy!  I two!"  I know that all of this growing up is inevitable, but I hate it!  I wish they could stay little forever!  As we are entering this whole new world of two's all over again, I plan to enjoy each moment, because I know that even this phase will go by all too quickly!  It is amazing to me, that this two year old is going to be a big brother soon!

Awe, I hadn't thought of that either. Joe is going to be a big brother. I like your story about him getting out of bed and saying "Well Hi Mom". That's so cute. You are a good Mom Julie! I can't wait to see the new baby! I love your family!
